Checking entitlement to helplessness allowance or supplementary benefits

Who can apply for a helplessness allowance?

The costs in care homes are enormous and the&nbspeligibility check for a helplessness allowance is complex. We can support you quickly and competently with our experience.

Every person, whether self-employed or employed, is entitled. Thanks to the helplessness allowance, people with a disability can enjoy an independent lifestyle. Anyone who is permanently dependent on the help or supervision of third parties due to impaired health in everyday life (dressing, undressing, getting up, sitting down, eating, etc.) is considered helpless. AHV and IV pensions and daily allowances are basically intended to cover the basic needs of a disabled person. If these benefits are not sufficient, supplementary benefits can be claimed.

A helplessness allowance must be applied for from the AHV and IV office. The application for supplementary benefits must be submitted to the AHV branch office at the place of residence or the cantonal compensation office.
