Checking entitlement to helplessness allowance or supplementary benefits

Who can apply for a helplessness allowance?

The costs in care homes are enormous and the&nbspeligibility check for a helplessness allowance is complex. We can support you quickly and competently with our experience.

In principle, everyone is entitled to it. The helplessness allowance enables people with a disability to lead an independent life. A person is deemed to be helpless if they require permanent assistance or supervision from a third party for everyday activities (dressing, undressing, getting up, sitting down, eating, etc.) due to health impairment.

OASI and IV pensions and daily allowances are generally intended to cover the basic needs of a disabled person. If these benefits are not sufficient, supplementary benefits can be claimed.

The helplessness allowance can be registered with the AHV and IV office. Applications for supplementary benefits can be submitted to the AHV branch office at your place of residence or the cantonal compensation office.
